One of the main ways that you can stay safe is by traveling in groups since predators are less likely to strike a group.

This can be tough if you’re traveling solo, but then just try to stick to an area that is well-traveled and stay connected to someone you trust.

2. Always Be Aware Of Your Surroundings

Being vigilant is another way that you can stay safe and avoid becoming a crime victim.

Pay attention to the people that are nearby and understand the areas that you’re traveling in.

If your gut tells you that something is off, it likely is, and it’s best for you to head out.

3. Stay In Well-Lit Areas

Staying in areas that are well-lit and well-traveled by others will lower your chance of becoming a victim of a violent crime, or property.

Especially if you’re out at night, find places that have street lights and plenty of other people out in Clermont.

4. Stay In Touch With Family/Friends

While this is especially important for solo travelers, it’s also good for everyone else to do as well!

Let a trusted family member or friend know where you’re going to be at all times and when they should expect to hear from you again.

5. Leave Valuables At Home

Having valuables and flaunting them while out in public can make you a bigger target for predators and thieves.

It’s best to either leave them at home or locked up in your hotel room. Most hotels have a safe that you can use.

It’ll help you avoid becoming a victim of a property crime.

6. Understand Hurricane Season

While the Orlando and Clermont areas are rated as one of the safest areas from hurricanes in Florida, it’s still important to be aware of hurricane season.
