I recently returned from my latest trip to Miami and am excited to fill you in on what to expect.

In this post, we look at everything you need to know for visiting Miami in April!

From powdery beaches and warm and sunny days to upscale restaurants and lively nightlife, South Florida is the place to go if you’re seeking equal parts adventure and relaxation.

This month brings warmer temperatures, the return of outdoor sporting events, and plenty of festivals and concerts.

Read below to learn everything you should know about Miami in April including must-see beaches, epic parties and nightclubs, perfect day trip destinations, and tours and attractions that you can’t miss!

Miami has great weather year-round, but April brings some of the most ideal weather of the entire year.

Sea Water Temperature In Miami In April

If you love to enjoy water activities on your beach vacations, Miami has no shortage of opportunities to do so.

Miami has some of the warmest water temperatures in Florida due to its southern location. This makes conditions for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and diving very comfortable.

The average ocean water temperature in April ranges from 79 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit.  This is considered “bathtub” warm which means you won’t need to wear a wet suit unless diving to deeper depths.

If you prefer activities on the water instead of in it, April is great for fishing and boating, too!

Most days are sunny and warm, and there will usually be a nice breeze for kitesurfing, boating, sea-dooing, and deep-water fishing.

There are many amazing tours that you can do when you visit Miami
Many travel experts and locals will agree that the best time to visit Miami is between March and May.

You Definitely Need To Visit The Beach During Your April Visit!

It would be a crime to visit Miami in April and not go to the beach.

The weather this time of year is mild and the ocean temperatures are warm.

One of my favorite beaches in Miami is Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne.

There’s lots of parking here and plenty of beach to spread out and enjoy your time.  Palm trees and awesome sunset views make Crandon Park a favorite of mine.

Other Beaches To Visit In April

The Greater Miami/Miami Beach area is known for its glistening, pristine beaches.

You can’t go wrong with any that you choose to visit, but there are a few that are favorites among locals and visitors:

South Beach.

Arguably the most popular beach in the area, South Beach is perfect for lounging, eating, surfing, and partying.

The legendary strip of beach is full of iconic colorful umbrellas and lounge chairs, Art Deco hotels, and endless turquoise waters.

Surfside Beach.

This family-friendly retro-styled community is a quiet spot for catching a perfect sunset.

It’s the perfect place to take a relaxed walk or bike ride along the coast or take to the water for kitesurfing or paddle boarding.

Sunny Isles Beach.

This is one of the cleanest and least crowded beaches in the Miami area.

It’s peppered with so many upscale condominiums that it’s been nicknamed “Florida’s Riviera”.

Grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants nearby and take in a sunset from the Newport Fishing Pier.

Best Places/Things To Do In April

There are endless things to do and see in Miami year-round.

However, a few of the most popular things to do in the springtime include outdoor concerts, dining al-fresco, days at the beach, nights at the club, and water activities such as surfing, boating, and fishing.

If you’re looking for something more peaceful, the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens are a great time.

They have the title of “Best Botanical Garden in North America” by USA Today.

Best Places To Visit For Parties

If you come to Miami for its nightlife and party scene, you won’t be disappointed.  It’s no exaggeration to say that Miami is home to some of the best clubs in the entire world.

With more than 100 club venues in Miami, there’s something to fit every club-goer’s fancy. Some of the most popular clubs in the city include LIV Miami, E11EVEN, Mr. Jones, and Story.

Most of the top-rated clubs feature world-renowned DJs, multi-room complexes, and top-class drink services.

There Are Awesome Festivals And Events In Miami In April

Yes!  Since the city gears up for the summer months starting in April, there are plenty of festivals and events to enjoy throughout the city.

A few of the most popular include the Miami Gay Pride Festival, Spring Break, the Tortugas Festival, Miami Attractions and Museum Month, and the Out in the Tropics Festival.

Miami Is The Perfect Spot To See Wildlife

Miami is surrounded by mangroves, swamps, the ocean, and plenty of beaches.

All of these habitats make for prime wildlife viewing.

Depending on where you are, plan to see manatees, flamingos, alligators, dolphins, fish, species of birds, snakes, and much more.

As I mentioned, Everglades Holiday Park is a great place to visit if you want to see alligators, sea turtles, snakes, and more!

Pack Light For Miami In April

There’s no official dress code in Miami.  It’s such a welcoming and diverse city that you can pretty much wear anything you want and get away with it.

However, it would be smart to pack flip-flops, sunscreen, bathing suits/trunks, a beach cover-up, lightweight t-shirts, tanks and cut-offs, shorts, and a light sweater for indoor dining or cool evenings.

If you plan to enjoy the nightlife, ladies should bring heels and your favorite party dress (the sparkly the better).

Gentlemen should bring a nice button-down shirt, dress pants, or dark jeans.

As you can see, visiting Miami in April is a great idea if you want to experience all that the city has to offer.
