If you’re looking for the best Anna Maria Island beaches to visit during your trip this year, we have you covered.
One of my favorite places on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Anna Maria Island is filled with things to do on the island, water activities, great food, and of course, beautiful, white-sand beaches.
This post will cover the best beaches in all three cities of the island.
Anna Maria Island Beaches To Visit!
Coquina Beach
Coquina Beach is located at the southern end of Anna Maria Island in Bradenton Beach.
With full amenities, this beach has lifeguards, a walking and biking trail, a playground, picnic areas, a large parking lot, showers, and restrooms.
You can also grab some food and drinks at Coquina Beach Cafe.
Bean Point
With good views of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and where the Tampa Bay waters meet the Gulf of Mexico, Bean Point is located at the northern tip of the island in the city of Anna Maria.
Bean Point is relatively secluded and there’s not much for parking. There is some street parking but you do have to walk a bit to get to the beach.
Bring snacks and anything you need here because there are no amenities or lifeguards.
This is definitely a must-visit beach, though. It’s also probably the best spot in Anna Maria Island to see the sunset.
Bean Point is one mile from Anna Maria Pier.
Bayfront Park
Just a five-minute walk from Anna Maria City Pier, Bayfront Park is also located at the north end of the island and a perfect spot for families.
Right now, the playground is removed and the city will be replacing it. The park is a great location for picnics as it has picnic tables and grills.
There’s a small parking lot, bathrooms, and showers, too.
Manatee Beach
With easy access by the island trolley, Holmes Beach has a large beach area, grills and picnic tables, bathrooms, and showers.
If you don’t feel like grilling out or having a picnic, you can grab some food and drinks from the Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe.
There’s also a gift shop so you can bring your favorite beach memories back home with you.
Cortez Beach
With nature trails, a picnic area, and a fishing pier, Cortez Beach is an excellent choice for a day at Anna Maria Island’s beaches.
The trolley also takes you to these south-end beaches, making it easily accessible.
After a day at Cortez Beach, you can head over to Bridge Street, which is just a mile north.
Grab a bite to eat at Bridge Tender or Anna Maria Oyster Bar while admiring the views.
There are also shops and activities along Bridge Street, and the Bridge Street Pier.
Anna Maria Island Beach Parking
All of the public beaches in Anna Maria Island have free parking and several of them have larger parking lots.
Coquina Beach and Manatee Beach have decent-sized parking lots. Bayfront Park and Cortez Beach have street parking spots, and Bean Point has limited street parking a short walk from the beach.
The trolley does stop at most of the beaches, but you’ll have to walk to Bean Point from Anna Maria City Pier, which is about a mile.
Me enjoying the serenity of Bean Point in Anna Maria Island
